Websites > Add Website > WordPress
Step 3: Choose Website Type
In this step, Hostinger will provide you with various website type options to choose from. Choose the one you are planning for, Let’s suppose Blog.
Step 4: Create Login Details for WordPress Account
You can also view Optional Step 9 before proceeding. Choose the way you want to Proceed.
After selecting the Website Type you will be prompted to create login details for your new WordPress Website. Every website has a front end and a back end. The front end can be seen by visitors while the back end can be accessed by the Administrator of a website for editing and publishing. In this step, we are creating the login for an administrator to control the website.
Enter ‘Administrator Email‘ (any email of you that you want to assign as admin for this website) and a strong password and keep a note of it as you will need to log in to your WordPress website each time.
Continue will prompt you to recommended plugins, followed by recommended templates and site info, just skip these steps as you can manage them all later as per your need.
Step 5: Assign Domain, Install WordPress, and Change Nameservers
Hostinger will prompt you with two options to assign a domain, one is ‘Buy a Domain’ and the other is ‘Use an Existing Domain’. Let’s suppose we already have purchased a Domain.
Select the ‘Use an Existing Domain‘ Option. Simply enter your plain domain (e.g. yourdomain.com) and continue. Your existing domain will be fetched by Hostinger and you will see the ‘Existing nameservers’ and ‘Required nameservers’.
After continuing it will automatically Install the WordPress and then you will see Three more options at the Final Step, which are, Connect Your Domain, View Your Website, and Control Panel.
Click on Connect, it will pop up the Guide window. Copy the required Nameservers from there. Open the New Tab in the Browser and Login to your Domain provider’s website and replace the existing nameservers with the required ones. Nameserver updation may take a few minutes to 48 hours.
Come back to the Tab in which you have your new website creation procedure going on. Click on the ‘continue’ button in the pop-up window and then ‘Finish’.
Now click on the ‘Manage Site’ button in the ‘Control Panel’ Section. This will take you to the Hostinger Control Panel Dashboard for your new website.
Step 6: Install SSL Certificate
Hostinger automatically installs an SSL certificate for your domain, however, make sure it is active. On the Dashboard screen where you can manage all settings related to your domain, head over to the ‘security’ section provided in many options on the left side of the webpage.
If the status is ‘active’ well and good else click on the three dots at the right side of the row and choose reinstall. Hostinger will install the SSL certificate for your domain.
Step 7: Access Your WordPress Dashboard
You can now access your WordPress dashboard by navigating to www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin and logging in with the admin credentials you provided earlier in step 4.

You have the option to install WordPress manually using the Auto Installer option that you will get on the Control Panel Dashboard. To go this way you need to skip step 4 of creating login details for your WordPress account and continue with step 5. After step 5 follow the below procedure.
- At the end of step 5, you will reach the Control Panel Dashboard for your Domain.
- Here you will see the Auto Installer Option. You can also get this option in the left-hand side options bar on the webpage under the website heading.
- Click on Auto Installer and then WordPress.
- Install WordPress window will appear. Fill in the website title and Administrator email, username, and password. Keep a note of it as you will need to log in to your WordPress website each time.
- In the same window under the Advance Tab, you will get the option to choose the database. If you have already created the database manually then choose the one and type the password.
- If you have not created the database then choose the ‘Create New Database‘ option and create a new password for it. Keep a note of it for future use.
- Click on Next, It will give the option to choose the WordPress version. If you want you can choose the older version but we will recommend installing the latest one. So no changes and click on the ‘Install’ button. This will install the WordPress on your Domain. You will be returned Dashboard.
- On Dashboard you will now see the ‘Admin Panel’ button. By clicking it you can directly login to your WordPress website. Instead of this, we recommend you go through step 6 onwards in the above article.
